WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU FIND A WAY FORWARD

We believe every recovery story is unique, and every person deserves a plan that meets them where they are. Our mission is to provide compassionate, practical support that empowers individuals and families to move from crisis to clarity, with guidance that’s personal, professional, and always rooted in hope.

Our Story

Unicorn Sober Services was founded with one purpose: to bridge the gap between recognizing a problem and finding the right help.

Over the years, we’ve seen how overwhelming it can be to navigate treatment options, support systems, and the day-to-day realities of recovery. Families are often left with more questions than answers, unsure of where to start, who to trust, or how to move forward.

We built Unicorn Sober Services to change that. From the very first call, our focus is on creating a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, supported, and understood. Whether it’s guiding a loved one toward treatment, providing hands-on support through recovery, or simply being there during moments of uncertainty, we are committed to walking beside you every step of the way.

Meet the Team

Katie Sanders, NCACIP • NCFRC • BA Finance

Katie’s journey began in private detox counseling in Alpharetta, Georgia, where she discovered the power of tailored recovery programs that lead to long-term sobriety. Holding a Bachelor’s in Finance & Risk Management (with honors) from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business, Katie is both a Nationally Certified Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional (NCACIP) and a Nationally Certified Family Recovery Coach (NCFRC).

Whether guiding highly confidential interventions or helping families rebuild with compassion, her clients benefit from her deep experience in 12‑Step programs, crisis intervention, and relapse prevention. Katie travels nationwide, balancing her on-call dedication with passions for cold plunges, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, speaking French, and dreaming of life on the road in an Airstream RV.

Adam B. Stephens, LPC

Adam brings a unique blend of professional training and personal experience to his work in addiction counseling. A graduate of the University of North Georgia with a master’s in counseling (addiction-focused), he was the first student in the university’s inaugural Addiction Track. With empathy earned from his own journey, Adam offers spiritual counseling, grief support, and existential “meaning” therapy, especially for those feeling lost.

Beyond his counseling work, Adam volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, teaches motivational interviewing, contributes to addiction-focused media, and serves as a mobile crisis responder in Metro Atlanta. At home, he balances fatherhood with exercise, travel, and perfecting his chili recipe—“it’s really good, by the way.”

Jason Sanders, Certified Sober Companion

Jason’s rock-bottom moment came after a series of personal losses and a series of destructive behaviors. His journey to recovery began with reaching out to Katie, and the transformation was swift, detox, six months in a men’s recovery program, and a renewed life.

Now sober since January 5, 2022, Jason serves others by providing compassionate sober companionship, from escorts to airports to boosting confidence at family or business events. He also contributes to the North Atlanta Regional Council for Narcotics Anonymous, helping guide regional recovery events and initiatives.
